What´s Physiotherapy?

At MY Sports Injury we treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. Through a thorough an orthopedic assessment and examination process our specialists find the root cause of your problem, discussing what you hope to gain from your physiotherapy and work closely with you to prepare a carefully formulated treatment plan.

Our physiotherapy team are experienced, approachable and dedicated to making your time with us a success. Our patients come to us for a variety of reasons, and we take great pride in delivering the highest level of service in all circumstances.

Physiotherapy is a holistic form of health treatment which can help a range of issues from sports injury, postural pain muscle and joint conditions to neuromuscular, cardiovascular and respiratory problems.

How does Physiotherapy work?

Physiotherapy uses a combination of manual therapy techniques to fundamentally restore range of motion and reduce pain. From massage, joint mobilisations to spinal manipulation. we use an array of techniques from different pillars of teaching to restore movement and proprioception. These techniques are not about ‘alignment’ but instead about decreasing joint fluid viscosity (thickness and stiffness) and activation of mechanical receptors around the joint capsule. These receptors feed-back diagnostic information used for balance and coordination.
